D1: TAMBULAKA – WEST SUMBA
Upon arrival at Tambulaka Airport / West Sumba , you are welcomed by our guide representative. Drive to Kodi Area to visit: WAINYAPU Village and the villages of PARONA BARORO, ROTENGGARO and RANGGABAKI. This area is famous for the highest roofs on the traditional houses. Some more than ten meters high. Return to Tambulaka area to Managa Aba Beach for overnight at Hotel Mario
D2: TAMBULAKA – WAIKABUBAK ( B )
After breakfast at Hotel. Depart for Waikabubak. Here visit the still very original traditional village of TARONG, WAITABAR and also PRAI IJING. Also an interesting visit to the Local market of Waikabubak, overnight at Manandang Hotel.
D3: WANOKAKA – LAMBOYA ( B, Lunch box )
After breakfast to WANOKAKA & LAMBOYA area to visit WAIGALI Village and see the Andung ( Scull Tree ), to PRAIGOLI Village to see the Kajiwa Stone and Pasola Field. Continue to WAIWUANG and WUNTALAKA village. In this area the traditional houses are on the hilltops. – lunch box en route at Kerewei Beach – return to Hotel for overnight at Manandang Hotel.
D4: WAIKABUBAK – WAINGAPU ( B )
After breakfast at Hotel, check out and drive overland to Waingapu ( East Sumba ) – 130 km distance. On the way stop at PASUNGA village (Anakalang area) to see the Greatest stone Grave and the traditional houses of the Sumbanese . Arrive in Waingapu and check in at Elvin Hotel or Similar.
IKAT from East Sumba is famous for the motives of animals, the colours used and the size of the Ikats. On D4 and D5 the villages visited all have their own specific Ikat.
Afternoon visit weaving villages PRAI LIU & PRAI LIANG (if time permits). overnight at Elvin Hotel
D5: MELOLO area ( B, Lunch box)
After Breakfast at Hotel drive 62 kms to MELOLO to see the traditional villages of PAU and RENDE. The royal tombs are made from the megalithic stone and some houses have the wall construction made out of Buffalo skin. These villages are the centre of traditional Ikat weaving. Lunch-box will be brought from Waingapu. In the afternoon drive back to Hotel. overnight at Elvin Hotel.
D6: DEPARTURE from Waingapu ( B )
