a town built on the rocky soil of an island of the same name on the rim of Cendrawasih Bay, is Irian Jaya's gateway. A big Indonesian naval base, it has an infrastructure that is better than in most other places in the area.

BIRDS GARDEN
This is actually a conservation area with a great variety of birds such as bird of paradise, parrot "mambruk" which are easily found almost almost every where in Irian Jaya. 

It is located in the village of Rim, the district of East Biak and accessible within thirty minutes by land.

BLUE LAKE PARAI

Flowing silently with its fresh, clear water in a cave, this blue lake is beautifully, and naturally decorated with stalactites from above and stalagmites from below. It is located in the village of Parai and  accessible by motorbike or car.
JAPANESE CAVE
The cave is known by the local people as Abiyan Binzar meaning Cave of the Old Woman. According to the local legend, in ancient times, an old woman ever lived in the cave. It is also known as Goa Jepang meaning of Japanese Cave. It was used by the Japanese army during the Second World War to hide both themselves. Located in the village of Samber the cave is accessible about ten minutes from downtown of Biak by land.
WARDO WATERFALL
This waterfall can be reached within one hour from downtown of Biak by land. Its beautiful and unforgettable panorama will make those who ever visited the waterfall always want to return.
