Flores island is a home of the unique culture,
nature beauties and more..
It lies between Sumbawa and Timor islands is an
abbreviation of Cabo da Flores which was used by
Portuguese sailor in the 17th century to identify
the cape on the eastern end of the islands because
of its underwater gardens.
Mt.
Kelimutu, 1.690m fifty years ago, had three lakes,
one lake was blue green, one fiery green and one
red. Thirty years later, the colors had changed to
blue, red brown and cafe au lait. Now, Ata Bupu
(Lake) is a dramatic dark-brown. Ata Polo are dark
red-brown, and only Nuwa Muri remains aquamarine
or turquoise as it apparently always was. |

Day 01 : Bali
- Maumere - Moni
Depart from Bali by
Merpati Nusantara Airlines flight to
Maumere in Flores Island. Upon arrival at
Waioti airport of Maumere, drive to Moni
through a scenic area of Paga, Wolowaru
and Jopu Ranggase. Lunch will be served at
local restaurant in Wolowaru. Then proceed
to Moni to check in at Flores Sare Inn or
similar. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 : Moni -
Kelimutu - Ropa - Riung
Early morning drive up to Kelimutu, see
the three colored lakes. Upon arrival.
walk 1,5km to view the spectacular of the
Hard Red, light blue and black color of
the Kelimutu lake. Down to Moni, proceed
to Maumere with stop at Ropa for a pure
beach and also witness how the locals
sells their commodity at the local market.
Here you will also find that the barter
system still exist. (Specially for the
group will stop at Welambasa to wetness
the traditional dance performance and also
the process of the traditional wedding
ceremony in this local village. You will
also enjoy lunch with head of the tribes
and also able to see the elementary school
in the remote area). For the regular Fits
program we will served lunch box. Late
afternoon drive to Riung via northern part
of the island while enjoying the
spectacular picturesque area Dinner and
overnight at PONDOK SVD or similar
Day 03 : Riung
After breakfast, sail to Pulau Tujuh
Belas (Seventeen islands) spreading just a
few step from the mainland of Riung in
Flores island. This is the nature
preservation. Enjoy snorkel in enormous
"aquarium" siesta on white sandy beach of
Pulau Rutong, take short walks circling
the island. Picnic lunch at Rutong beach.
Sail to Pulau Kalong, see myrids of bat
colony hanging over mangroves tree. Late
afternoon return sailing to Riung
mainland. Dinner and overnight at Pondok
SVD - Riung
Day 04 : Riung - Bajawa - Bena
After breakfast, drive through the
beautiful and picturesque area to Bajawa.
On arrival in Bajawa, direct transfer to
your hotel. After check in proceed and
lunch in Bajawa, we will have an excursion
to Benoa drive through huge and
gigantic bamboo plantation, picture Inerie
volcano and take short walks in the
vicinity. Arrive in Bena, see traditional
houses and megalithic tombs, learn
the meaning of Ngadhu and Bhaga,
symbolizing male and female of ancestral
spirits. Overnight in Bajawa.
Day 05 : Bajawa - Maumere
After breakfast at hotel, depart for
Maumere drive through the southern line of
the island and stop in Ende for lunch,
afterward, we proceed our journey to
Maumere. Upon arrival, check in at Sao
Wisata Resort. All meals provided.
Day 06 : Maumere - Next Destination
After breakfast at resort, morning city
sightseeing on Maumere visiting Ledalero
Museum, local markets before transfer to
the airport for your flight return to
Denpasar or next destination |
