Flores island is a home of the unique culture,
nature beauties and more..
It lies between Sumbawa and Timor islands is an
abbreviation of Cabo da Flores which was used by
Portuguese sailor in the 17th century to identify
the cape on the eastern end of the islands because
of its underwater gardens.
Mt.
Kelimutu, 1.690m fifty years ago, had three lakes,
one lake was blue green, one fiery green and one
red. Thirty years later, the colors had changed to
blue, red brown and cafe au lait. Now, Ata Bupu
(Lake) is a dramatic dark-brown. Ata Polo are dark
red-brown, and only Nuwa Muri remains aquamarine
or turquoise as it apparently always was. |

Day 01 : Bali - Ende
Depart from Bali by Merpati Nusantara
Airlines flight to Ende in Flores Island.
Upon arrival at Ipi airport of Ende in the
central Flores, transfer to your hotel.
Then proceed with the excursion to Bena.
You will have a little long drive to reach
this destination, drive to Bajawa through
the beautiful and picturesque area to Ende
and Bajawa while viewing the beautiful of
the semi active volcano Gunung Ia and
Inerie. Stop in Bena located at the hill
of Inerie surrounded by huge and gigantic
bamboo plantation, picture Inerie volcano.
Arrive in Bena, see traditional houses and
megalithic tombs, learn the meaning of
Ngadhu and Bhaga, symbolizing male and
female of ancestral spirits. Return to
Ende town, stay at hotel.
Day 02 : Ende - Moni - Kelimutu - Riung
Early morning drive up to Kelimutu, see
the three colored lakes. Upon arrival.
walk 1,5km to view the spectacular of the
Hard Red, light blue and black color of
the Kelimutu lake. Down to Moni, proceed
to Jopu Ranggase to see the local
traditional house with its ancient
structure. Drive to Ngella to see the
local women at their hand weaving work. In
the afternoon we drive heading to the west
part (driver may choose two ways to drive
"northern line or souther lines"). In the
evening we arrive at Riung, dinner and
stay at Pondok SVD in Riung.
Day 03 : Riung
After breakfast, sail to Pulau Tujuh Belas
(Seventeen islands) spreading just a few
step from the mainland of Riung in Flores
island. This is the nature preservation.
Enjoy snorkel in enormous "aquarium"
siesta on white sandy beach of Pulau
Rutong, take short walks circling the
island. Picnic lunch at Rutong beach. Sail
to Pulau Kalong, see myrids of bat colony
hanging over mangroves tree. Late
afternoon return sailing to Riung mainland
dinner and stay at Pondok SVD in Riung.
Day 04 : Riung - Ende - Maumere
After breakfast, we drive return to Ende
passing through Mbay and Aegela, get the
stunning pictures and see the largest
irigation on the island on Mbay. Stop at
Nua Bosi - see the local make their knife
using traditional tools. Continue our trip
to Ende again visit the Wolotopo
traditional villages and their hand
weaving. Heading to the east to Wolowaru,
Watuneso and Paga. In afternoon we arrive
in Maumere, check in at Sao Wisata Resort.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 05 : Maumere - Denpasar (Bali)
or next destination
After breakfast at hotel, we take the city
sightseeing visiting Wuring fishermen
village, Sikka - the traditional village
of Sikka clan, Ledalero Museum to see the
ancient heritage and the items include the
old Flores ruins. Then transfer you to the
airport for your departure to Bali or next
destination. Upon arrival in Bali, we will
pick you up again and transfer you back at
hotel |
