Flores island is a home of the unique culture,
nature beauties and more..
It lies between Sumbawa and Timor islands is an
abbreviation of Cabo da Flores which was used by
Portuguese sailor in the 17th century to identify
the cape on the eastern end of the islands because
of its underwater gardens.
Mt.
Kelimutu, 1.690m fifty years ago, had three lakes,
one lake was blue green, one fiery green and one
red. Thirty years later, the colors had changed to
blue, red brown and cafe au lait. Now, Ata Bupu
(Lake) is a dramatic dark-brown. Ata Polo are dark
red-brown, and only Nuwa Muri remains aquamarine
or turquoise as it apparently always was. |

Day 01 : Denpasar (Bali) - Maumere
(Central Flores) - Moni
We will meet and greet you at the hotel in
Bali, then transfer to the airport to
catch your flight for Maumere of central
Flores island. Upon arrival at Waioti
airport of Maumere, proceed to local
restaurant for lunch. Afterward driving
heading to the west ward of the island
through the picturesque area surrounded by
mountainous. Early evening we arrive in
Moni (the village located down the hill of
Kelimutu). Dinner and overnight at local
Guest House.
Day 02 : Moni - Lake Kelimutu -
Maumere
Wake up at approximately 0430am, your
guide and driver will take you up to the
top Mount Kelimutu. It will take about 45
minutes to drive. Upon arrival. walk 1,5km
from the park to a view point of the spectacular
lakes Hard Red, light blue and black
color. Please be aware, although this is
open for visitors, we recommend you to
respect every guideline explained by the
local guide. This is one of the most
secret lakes on the island, and it
believed to be resting place for the
entire ancestor spirit of Lio tribe. Drive
down to your lodge for breakfast and
shower. In the noon drive to Jopu Ranggase
to visit one of the old traditional house
with some ornament and secret symbols God
manifestation. Lunch served at local
restaurant in Moni. In the afternoon,
drive to Maumere. Dinner and overnight at
hotel in Maumere.
Day 03 : Maumere - City Sightseeing
- Denpasar (Bali)
After breakfast at the hotel, a short
excursion visit local market of Maumere.
Transfer to the airport to catch your
flight return to Denpasar (Bali). Upon
arrival in Bali, we will drop you back at
the original hotel. |
