Orang Utan is derived from the Indonesian/Malay language means man of the forest. Borneo and Sumatera island are well known with its large rain forest on the equator. Orang Utan of a significant numbers exist on both islands. Travel to Borneo nowadays access available from few points of Indonesia such as Semarang of Indonesia

Tanjung Puting National Park of Indonesia is the best site to discover orang utan of Indonesia part. You will bio diversity it and be captivated by nature stemming enriched by the spirit of the people of the region and those all remain substantially wild and nature. As the great apes, Orangutan are among human kind's closest living relative in the Animal Kingdom. And you will be entering the realm of pre historic wonder of nature.

Dayak is a collective name for over 200 different tribes living throughout Borneo's interior . They are the true 'people of the jungle'. The Dayak people lives in the hinterland along the banks of major river and in a long house.

It is customary for them to live with a whole extended family or with one clan. Each family has their own compartment and the chief of the clan will occupy the central chamber

Day 01 : Bali/Jakarta/Semarang to Pangkalan Bun - Kumai - Camp Leakey Park.


Especially depart from Bali, you will receive our extra services of pick up from your hotel in the morning, transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Yogyakarta. Upon arrival in Yogyakarta direct drive to Semarang of central Java. Fly from Semarang to Pangkalan Bun with a small commercial flight service. Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be picked up by our local staff transfer to Kumai aboard local boat for the park. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2m with a roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. On the wayup stop at Tanjung Harapan Rehabilitation center for exceptive orangutan. If time permitted we will have an opportunity to see feeding time at 15.00. In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the monkeys along the riverside. Dinner and overnight on the board
(with simple mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar - helpful guides and boatmen or spend the night at the lodge near by the river). (L,D)

Day 02 : Camp Leakey Park - Pondok Tangguy - Camp Leakey (Boat/Lodge)

After breakfast aboard the klotok or local boat to travel up river for about 2½ hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans  are reintroduced into the rain forest and also known as research center for Orangutan. On the up stop at Pondok Tanggui to see morning feeding time for ex-captive orangutan. Lunch then take short hike at the forest until the time to witness feeding time at 14.00 pm for old rehabilitation orangutan given additional foods. Overnight on the boat or at Rimba Lodge. Day 03 : Camp Leakey - Kumai - Pangkalan Bun - Bakonsu Dayak Village

After very early breakfast, boating down to Kumai then transfer by car to Pangkalan Bun for about 20 minutes then proceed to speed boat harbour. Please covered your valuable things with dry bags and put suntan lotion for sun protection. We recommend also bring soft ear plugs as the sounds of speed boat is so noisy. You will be boarding your speed boat on the Arut River before change to the Lamandau River. On the way you will pass some villages along the Lamandau River , logging company, and rapids. You will stop for lunch on the way. Upon arrival at Bakonsu Village after 5 - 6 hours drive, our guide will take you to the long house for your accommodation. Sightseeing around the villages and arrange the welcome dancing ceremony. After dinner they will ringing their gong or one of their music instrument to gathering together for this Horn Bill Dancing Party. Lots of people will join and you will be welcome like a King & Queen. Overnight at Long house. (B, L, D)

Day 03 : Pondok Tangguy - Camp Leakey or Pesalat - Boat/Lodge

After breakfast board the klotok to travel up the river for Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. Afterward is your free choice You can take the 2nd visit at camp leakey or continuing the trip to Pesalat replantation camp, See the process of replantation project or take this opportunity to hike at forest. (For additional we could arrange the night walking on this place searching for nocturnal animal or blowing mushroom). Free afternoon program, we could visit village near by the park. Overnight on the boat. (B,L,D)

Day : 04 : Park - Kumai - Pangkalan Bun - Bakonsu Dayak Village

Day 05 : Bakonsu Dayak Village - Tapinbini Village - Pangkalan Bun

After breakfast, Up the river for 20 minutes to Tapinbini village. An other semi modern dayak village, then procced by the local dayak guide take an easy climb to Bolau hill, On the way up you will see some dayak peoples doing their daily activities a like working for rice field, and our local guide will show you how the setting the trap for the animal and any kind their daily activities. Until reach the place call BATU BATUNGKAT (Hugh Stone) where in the dayak beleave as their holly place. The guide will give you the stick and ask you to put it below the stone and say your wishes. After that back to the village for lunch, After packing your luggage, drive down back to Pangkalan Bun by speed boat. On the way stop at Kotawaringin Palace and sightseeing surrounding. Lunch on the way. Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun, drive by car back to your hotel. Free program at your own leisure. Overnight at Hotel at Pangkalan Bun. (B,L,D)
 
Day 05 : Boat/Lodge - Kumai - Pangkalan Bun - Bali or other destination
 
Breakfast on board or at the lodge, in the morning free for leisure surrounded by peaceful green natural forest till time to transfer to Kumai then to Pangkalan Bun airport for next destination. (B)
