Day 01 : Bali/Jakarta/Semarang to
Pangkalan Bun - Kumai - Camp Leakey
Park.
Especially depart from Bali, you will
receive our extra services of pick up
from your hotel in the morning, transfer
to the airport to catch your flight to
Yogyakarta. Upon arrival in Yogyakarta
direct drive to Semarang of central
Java. Fly from Semarang to Pangkalan Bun
with a small commercial flight service.
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport
you will be picked up by our local staff
transfer to Kumai aboard local boat for
the park. The boat is a traditional
Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2m
with a roof which forms the upper deck
where you can view the rain forest as it
glides by. On the wayup stop at Tanjung
Harapan Rehabilitation center for
exceptive orangutan. If time permitted
we will have an opportunity to see
feeding time at 15.00. In the peaceful
afternoon we will slowly explore the
quite river by the klotok while observe
the monkeys along the riverside. Dinner
and overnight on the board
(with simple mattress, pillow, fine
meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito
net, kitchen, simple toilet available on
boat besides the familiar - helpful
guides and boatmen or spend the night at
the lodge near by the river).

Day 02 : Camp Leakey Park - Pondok
Tangguy - Camp Leakey (Boat/Lodge)
After breakfast aboard the klotok or
local boat to travel up river for
about 2½ hours boating and then up a
side creek to Camp Leakey where the
older orangutans are reintroduced
into the rain forest and also known as
research center for Orangutan. On the
up stop at Pondok Tanggui to see
morning feeding time for ex-captive
orangutan. Lunch then take short hike
at the forest until the time to
witness feeding time at 14.00 pm for
old rehabilitation orangutan given
additional foods. Overnight on the
boat or at Rimba Lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 03 : Pondok Tangguy - Berguruh -
Tanjung Harapan - Boat/Lodge
After breakfast board or at the rimba
lodge. to travel up the river for
Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation
center for the new ex-captive
orangutans, see feeding time at
09.00am. Afterward continuing the
trips by visiting reforestation center
of Pesalat. You can see the process of
reforestation to abandoned forest
fire. Take this opportunity to high
around pesalat area to observe
wildlife. Afterward visit at Tanjung
Harapan Rehabilitation center for
orangutan and witness feeding time for
rehabilitan orangutan at 15.00.
Afternoon visit Tanjung Harapan
village sight seeing around the
village or you might enjoy canoing at
the small river front of village, (
depend to the water level ). During
night while having dinner on the boat,
cruise down the river at Nipa Palm
Mangrove to enjoy fireflies along the
river bank. Overnight on the boat or
at Rimba Lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 04 : Camp Leakey - Pondok Tangguy -
Pesalat - Boat/Lodge
Morning breakfast then together with
Local NGO staff hike for 1 and half
hours to Beguruh reforestaion site.
You may join and help the forestation
activities such as collecting seed,
Planting, etc. Beguruh is one of the
location in Tanjung Puting national
park which is burned few year ago. By
helping them to plant the trees means
you are helping to preserve Orangutan
and other wildlife home in the future.
Back to the Boat for lunch and
Afterward is your free choice You can
take the 2nd visit at camp leakey.
Overnight around Pesalat jetty, You
may interest to have night walk
searching for nocturnal animal or
blowing mushroom.) Overnight on the
boat or at Rimba Lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 05 : Boat/Lodge - Kumai -
Pangkalan Bun - Bali or other
destination
Breakfast on board or at the lodge, in
the morning free for leisure
surrounded by peaceful green natural
forest till time to transfer to Kumai
then to Pangkalan Bun airport for next
destination. (B)
