Day 01: Balikpapan -
Arrival
We will arrange your pick up service at
your hotel in Bali (if you depart from
other cities of Indonesia, you need to
get to the airport yourself). Aboard
domestic flight to Balikpapan of East
Borneo. Upon arrival our local
representative will meet and greet you
at the airport, and immediately
transferred to a hotel in Balikpapan for
overnight stay.
Day 02: Balikpapan -
Fly to Tarakan
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the
airport to fly for Tarakan the closest
city to enter the inside of Borneo
island. Upon arrival in Tarakan directly
transfer to hotel. The rest of the day
visit the local authority to arrange
entrance permission. Overnight stay.
Day 03: Tarakan -
Malinau
Breakfast at the hotel, depart from
Tarakan to Malinau cross by the speed
boat. This is your starting point for
the jungle trekking. Rest of your day,
our local guide will give you short
brief of local orientation, weather and
etc.....All meals provided.
Day 04: Malinau,
trekking to Long Umung, overnight at
local house
Day 05: Long Umung
trekking to Wayagung for overnight at
local house
Day 06: Wayagung
trekking through the forest overnight at
jungle camp
Day 07: arrive at Long
Sepayang, overnight at local house
Day 08: Long Sepayang -
Kelipal Village
All meals provided. Depart from Long
Sepayang hiking through the rainforest
with beautiful forest surrounding
enroute. Arrive in Kelipal stay at the
local house.
Day 09: Kelipal - Bang
Biau
All meals provided. Depart from Kelipal
again trekking through the beautiful
nature and forest surroundings to Bang
Biau village. Arrive late afternoon with
overnight at local house.
Day 10: Bang Bia
trekking to long Berang overnight at
local house
Day 11&12: return by
motorized canoe from Long Brang to
Malinau
Day 13: Malinau by boat
return to Tarakan, for overnight at
Hotel
Day 14: Tarakan fly to
Balikpapan , overnight at Hotel
Day 15: Balikpapan
departure
Note : this routes above will not
guarantee to find the nomadic Punan
Dayak where they live totally isolated
and in harmony with the forest
surroundings. Will be really lucky when
you can meet one of nomadic Punan during
trekking. But the visiting village above
are the Punan villages. |
