Santai
Hotel is a boutique hotel that caters
for the traveler who wants to get away
from it all and stay in 'local' high
quality accommodation with the comforts
of home. Santai Hotel has six individual
Indonesian style bungalows, three Ocean
View and three Garden view. Santai Hotel
is approximately 3 hours drive from
Denpasar Airport and the southern
resorts of Kuta and Nusa Dua.

The
detached bungalows are built in the Sulawesi
style with thatched roofs and local timbers. The
bungalows, fishponds, restaurant, and 16-metre
architect designed swimming pool are surrounded
by lush green gardens, full of the fragrances of
frangipani and flowers of the East.
Garden
View - Each room is individually furnished and
decorated using hand made products from local
villages. Each bungalow has a large front deck
with comfortable lounge sofas and chairs, just
right for having breakfast on or taking an
afternoon snooze. The 'open air' style bathrooms
have hot water showers, with and w.c. and vanity
around an indoor garden. All the bungalows have
individually controlled air-conditioning.
Ocean
View - Each room is individually furnished and
decorated using hand made products from local
villages. The three Ocean View bungalows are
slightly larger than the Garden view and have
mini bars. Otherwise all have the same floor
plan and facilities. Each bungalow has a large
front deck with comfortable lounge sofas and
chairs, just right for having breakfast on or
taking an afternoon snooze. The 'open air' style
bathrooms have hot water showers, with and w.c.
and vanity around an indoor garden. All the
bungalows have individually controlled
air-conditioning.

The
restaurant serves a blend of Indonesian,
Balinese and Western food. Try some of the local
dishes ranging from grilled or B.B.Q freshly
caught fish cooked with Balinese spices and
sauces (barracuda is a favorite) to Gado Gado, a
wonderful warm vegetarian salad with lashings of
peanut sauce. Open from 7 am until 10 pm Daily.
Laundry
service is available for a nominal charge, same
day weather permitting.
Snorkelling equipment is available for hire at
reception.
As Amed is off the beaten track as yet there are
no phone lines, so take advantage of the peace
while you can! For anyone needing to make a
phone call or send a fax, a local hotel has a
satellite phone or there is a communication
office approximately 20 minutes drive away.
Santai Hotel has a medical kit available to
guests for headaches, small cuts and bruises
etc.
